As some of you may know, I had my New Year’s Eve dress planned out since the beginning of December. However, this body con dress swooped in at the last minute, and stole the show. For some reason, I started second-guessing the bling on my first New Year’s Eve dress, which I usually wouldn’t do. Ultimately, I determined that the bling was just too much, and I needed a new dress. So when this one arrived on my doorstep a day before NYE, I knew it was a sign.
I found this Peggy Bandage Dress at Fashion Nova Curve, and I was initially attracted to the lace up details on the bust and on the hips, as well as the color. Fun fact: this dress also comes in blue! I absolutely love the body con fit. I will always opt for something that hugs and accentuates my curves, and this dress does just that (look at those hips!). Since it is winter and freezing here in Chicago, I wanted to find something simple to accompany the dress and cover my shoulders and back. Enter this Great Escape Jacket, which is also from Fashion Nova Curve. I love how this cape brings an edge and also a touch of elegance to this dress. The cape also makes this dress wearable beyond the club—and y’all know I’m all about versatility. I can’t wait to wear the jacket into the office or with some of my other more formal looks!

SIZING INFO: I am wearing a 2X in the Peggy Bandage Dress, which is my usual size, however, the dress is really tight. After wearing it for an hour, the dress was more breathable and fit perfectly. But if you aren’t into wearing super tight clothing, size up one size larger than your usual size. I am wearing a 2X in the Great Escape Jacket, which is my usual size, and it fits perfectly!
