Growing up I was always faced with body image issues. I skimmed through the pages of Vogue and admired the thin models. I wanted to be just like them. 

I was 11 and 120 pounds. I tried on clothes that were labeled “large,” but felt like they were made for a  5-year-old. I looked in the mirror and told myself, "This is the way it’s going to be, unless I lose weight."

Which brings me to the choices I was faced with daily: diet until I’m fashion friendly (and if I die tomorrow I’m going to be pissed that I didn't get to eat French toast) or eat the French toast and continue to be disappointed with the way my clothes fit.

 As I grew up, I grew into it. Dieting was something I tried every month and failed at. Gaining 50 more pounds as I reached my 20’s, I looked at myself in the mirror once again, and said, "Screw it. I’m curvy: A little extra tummy, a little extra booty, and a whole lot of hips and thighs."

I gave up on trying to change myself, and I focused on being healthy and confident. Confidence gave me everything I needed, it was even better than having fashion trend forecast. I held my head high, and wherever I went, whatever I wore,  I worked it.

I doesn't matter how thin or curvy you are when it comes to fashion, it all comes down to how much you love yourself. Confidence is the key to rocking the clothes you dream of wearing!

So get rid of any preconceived fashion regulations that you've ingested throughout the years. It’s time to get fabulous with your phat ass!

My most important style advice is to remember that you’re beautiful; curvy, skinny, athletic, plus size or average. Every day is a fashion show and the world is your runway!
