Hi, I'm Natalie...
I am 5'2 and a size 18, which means I am petite AND plus size. Those two sizing terms might seem like polar opposites, but full figures come in a variety of shapes and sizes—one of those being short! As a petite plus size fashionista, it has been extremely difficult to fit into fashion and find clothing made for my body. But I'm here to share my petite plus style tips with you and to show the world that short, plus size women belong in fashion!

PROBABLY NOT MY LAST CUSHNIE X TARGET DRESS

Chicago Plus Size Petite Fashion Blogger, Natalie Craig, of Natalie in the City, reviews plus size slip dresses.
As you have already seen. I have been obsessed with the Carly Cushnie X Target plus size slip dresses!

If you have read my previous posts about the CUSHNIE X TARGET clothing line, then you know that I was debating getting the beige and lime green plus size slip dress from the collection. Well, obviously, I got it! I was initially worried about how the beige and green would look on my skin tone, but ultimately, I think I pull the two colors off pretty well. All of the dresses from the collection are so chic, and I see so much potential to dress these pieces up and down for any occasion. Plus size slip dresses are very trendy right now, so I am so happy to have a few pieces from this line. However, I wish I would have waited to by them because these dresses are now more than 50% off at Target! I have included a roundup of all the available dresses in the shopable widget below so you can scoop these pieces up at an amazing discount.

But before you add all of these dresses to your cart, let's talk about sizing! I found sizing to be pretty inconsistent and hard to determine for myself. There was only one Target in my area that actually carried the collection in stores, but because of COVID-19, I decided to take my chances and order all of my pieces online. The black slip dress was too big at first, even though I ordered it in a size 18, which is my usual size. So I ordered it in a 16, and it was a little tight. The pink, beige, and red dress I ordered was super tight in the chest, even though it was a size 18. I got the the green and beige slip dress in a size 18, which was a little tight—contrary from the black slip dress, but similar to the pink, red, and beige slip dress. Are you confused yet? Well, I figured out that these differences in sizes could be attributed to the fact that all of these dresses have a different back style. The black dress ties as a halter the neck, whereas the green dress and the beige, red, and pink dress has a racer back. So when it comes sizing, I say order your regular size and know that it might be a little tight or a little loose.

Regardless, I am super happy with all the dresses I now have, and I can't wait to wear them! Even if that means they sit in my closest until 2021 when COVID-19 is a little less of a threat. Stay safe and healthy!
